Favorite

Favorite

Lenoir x Herbemont, year unknown

Favorite is a daughter of Lenoir and resembles it a great deal in terms of appearance of both the vine and the fruit. However, it is more disease-resistant, and more productive. That’s why it is called ‘Favorite’, we suppose.

Vine Characteristics

  • High yielding.

  • Large, oblong clusters, tiny berries.

  • Canopy is dense with lots of leaf coverage which, is favorable by this variety as the fruit is in better condition when not exposed.

Winemaker’s Notes

  • Favorite has the potential for higher sugar and is harvested at a greater brix level than other American varieties.

  • Deep in color.

  • Well-balanced tannin, acidity, and body.
